Xu Lai, also known as Zhang Ruo Nan, was a high school student when a devastating earthquake nearly claimed her life a decade ago. It was just the speedy reasoning and boldness of a youthful fireman Jin Shi Chuan (William Chan) that saved her. She fell in love with him after he saved her from the falling debris and made a reassuring "promise." When they parted ways, she made a vow to find him at all costs.
Ten years later, Jin Shi Chuan has reached captain status. Xu Lai is now a reporter for the news. Jin Shi Chuan once more intervenes when a chemical plant fire breaks out. While she remembers him immediately, he doesn't do moreover - and thinks she is only an instigating journalist. Even worse, her report is distorted, prompting numerous social media posters to lambast the fire department! However, Xu Lai hasn't lost her love for him, and she vows to change this and win his heart at any cost. She becomes a dog trainer, assisting in the training of special firefighting dogs that can assist rescue workers. This carries her nearer to Jin Shi Chuan. Yet, he conveys profound scars from past hurt. Can Xu Lai's love alleviate the suffering?
