Kim Tae Hee plays a woman named Joo Ran who seems to live a happy life. She has a well-behaved son and a husband who seems to be perfect in every way. She believes she has nothing to be desired and is extremely content with her life.
But when she smells something strange coming from her backyard, things start to go wrong for her. Over the long run, she starts to stress that the smell might be coming from a dead, deteriorating body…
Her way crosses with that of Sang Eun (Lim Ji Yeon), a lady whose life has been loaded up with battle and brutality. She is a victim of domestic violence and longs to get away from the awful life she leads every day.
The women gradually realize that their futures are intertwined. Will they discover the truth about Joo Ran's garden's stench? And will they be able to collaborate in order to uncover the truth about Joo Ran's family life, which appears to be idyllic?
Kim Jin Yeong wrote the novel that served as the basis for this television show.
Jung Ji Hyun is the director of the South Korean drama series "Lies Hidden in My Garden," which premieres in 2023.
